First Bird Feeder in the Living Room area
I installed a new "Squirrel Buster" type bird feeder in the Living Room area of the Valley of Birds. It is filled it with the wild bird seed mix for now but may change that to Sunflower seeds which seems to be more popular among our birds.
While on the subject of squirrel attacks on the feeders. As an experiment I removed the overhead squirrel baffle on one of the earlier Squirrel Buster feeders to see if it actually requires the baffle or not. I found that the baffle is ineffective on the metal tube feeder, if the experiment works I will replace the metal tube feeder with another Squirrel Buster.
After installing the new feeder, I met Karen who was walking her dog and was traveling the length of the Falaise from east to west. I told her of the Dinosaur Statue and walked with her to that point discussing different aspects of the Falaise along the way. We saw a large number of small, brightly colored birds along just west of the Skate Board Park which I think were Redstarts but I was unable to get any confirming photos. We noticed that people have been collecting garbage into small piles along the path for easier removal.
Returning to the Valley of Birds I saw MTQ workers busy planting new trees along the Bande Verte.
Once in the Valley again, I took some bird photos....
These were added to ebird and the spreadsheet.
